10 Things to Eat in New York City

10 Things to Eat in New York City

Are you planning a trip to New York City?

Visiting NYC can be overwhelming. From transportation methods to restaurants and entertainment, there are endless options! When it comes to the city’s food, tons of restaurants claim to have the best pizza, the best burger, or to be NYC’s favorite deli— but how do you really know?! If you’re short on time and need a quick list of some delicious NYC eats, find them below!

#1 Cavatelli Pasta at the Conrad  (FiDi)

Inside the Conrad Downtown, across from the Brookfield Place shopping centre, you’ll find Atrio, a cozy restaurant and wine bar. Their menu offers an array of Italian-inspired dishes, standard American entrees, and additional options that cater to dietary restrictions.

Although I’ve spent some time traveling about Italy, eating homemade Italian pasta, and specialty pasta dishes from wineries in Chianti, the Cavatelli Pasta at Atrio is by far one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. The prosciutto, watercress, and ricotta salata create the perfect blend of flavors, while pine nuts add the perfect texture. The pasta tasted freshly made and perfectly cooked. I’ve never had anything quite like it.

#2 The Signature Panini at Stage Door Delicatessen (FiDi)

This deli is a NYC ✨experience.✨ Everyone on the team has the expected New Yorker accent, and they’re all friendly as can be. They had a sense of hospitality, that when combined with the flavors of the food, made me feel at home.

The panini makes the list because of its unique flavor complex and general deliciousness. But their other standard deli foods are all up to par and worth trying too— especially the apple strudel.

#3 Passionfruit & Strawberry Trifle at the Met

Sightseeing while traveling always has me wanting a snack in the most inconvenient places. From my experience, these cafes at museums usually are way overpriced and have terrible food options. I stopped to grab a snack anyway and stumbled upon this passionfruit strawberry dessert. I wasn’t expecting much, but the passionfruit sold me.

This passionfruit dessert cup is similar to a strawberry shortcake. It was super light and refreshing, but also shockingly delicious. It’s not pretty, but you have to try it!

#4, 5, and 6: Greek Salad, Classic Gyro, and Gypsy Burger at Tony Dragon’s Grille (Central Park)

If you like greek food, you’ll love Tony Dragon’s Grille. It’s near Central Park, making it the perfect meal for a picnic in the park. Their feta, olives, and peppers are imported from Greece. The greek salad had the creamiest feta I’ve ever tried. The tomatoes and cucumbers were so fresh and flavorful. The gyro was just as fresh and delicious. If you’re into burgers with a twist, you have to try their Gypsy Burger. It’s perfectly spicy and flavorful!

#7 A Chocolate Chip Cookie from Mia’s (Times Square)

We stumbled into this bakery for a breakfast pastry and walked out with a few extra things to try. Everything was good, but the chocolate chip cookies had us make a few trips back to the bakery. Mia’s has one of the best chocolate chip cookies you’ll ever have! Soft and chewy!

Restoration Hardware Rooftop Restaurant in NYC

#8 and 9 The burger and truffle fries at RH rooftop (the Meat Packing District)

Restoration Hardware has a restaurant but not an Instagram? Yes.

This gorgeous furniture showroom has a rooftop restaurant that’s worth the visit. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the burger and truffle fries were especially noteworthy. The gorgeous aesthetics of the restaurant, amazing service, and delicious food made the trip to RH a memorable experience. If you’re celebrating a birthday, expect a warm chocolate chip cookie with a cute little birthday candle.

#10 Tiramisu at Sant Ambroeus (FiDi)

Tiramisu is a dessert that just needs to be done well. The tiramisu at Sant Ambroeus near the World Trade Center was everything you could want from a tiramisu— it was beautiful and delicious.

Sant Ambroeus is a great place to stop if you’re looking for alfresco dining while you traipse about the city. The waitstaff even speaks Italian if you’re looking for a more international dining experience!

Have you tried any of these? What are your favorite eats in NYC?! Leave a comment below!
