Succulent & Cacti 101
Not only do plants create such a beautiful and peaceful essence to a home but they also make it a healthier environment. They purify the air and raise the rooms humidity which in return fights dry skin, colds, sore throat and dry cough. They also reduce fatigue, stress, & sharpen focus (Study away!)
Cacti and succulents are such beautiful additions to any boho bungalow but growing them (or even keeping them alive) can be quite a science. Just be sure to follow my quick tips and in no time you will have a big beautiful jungle of growing plants. (Like me!)
Tips & Tricks:
-If you plant in a pot that doesn't have drainage holes, fill the bottom with rocks to add a little breathing room.
-Add a little sand to your soil.
-They may look pretty on your coffee table but they will look prettier and grow bigger near a window or outside during the spring and summer.
- My little cacti cocktail: a 10-10-10 fertilizer diluted to 1/4 strength or Milorganite will help your babies grow big and strong.
-Water until it's dripping out the drainage holes of the pot once a week. During the winter you can push it to every 2 or so weeks when the soil becomes dry.
WHY I DO IT: Growing plants gives me so much happinesss and joy! Seeing things I started from seed and watching them change and grow, knowing I had a part of it is the coolest thing. Most of the plants I own were given to by friends and family and are so sentimental to me and I just love passing that love on. Seeing people giving, caring and spreading this plant happiness is the absolute best.
Now hurry up and treat yo self to some cacti & succulent goodness and start growing & sharing!! Help make the world a better & healthier place. Happy Planting! xox Carly
