A Threads Babe's Guide to New York City
Manhattan New York:
New York is know for the craziness that is Time Square but the places that I loved most were the ones that were tucked away on quiet city streets unknown about from tourists and loved by locals.
Favorite Place to Shop: Located in Chelsea Market, Artists + Fleas is made up of local vendors and independent artists selling handmade and vintage pieces. Go discover new talent and see the best of NY art, fashion, design + vintage.
Favorite View: Take a stroll around The High Line - a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan's West Side and enjoy beautiful views of the city. For an unobstructed sunset view, I highly recommend spending the money to go to the Top of the Rock. Watching NY turn from day to night is truly magical.
Best Coffee + Brunch: During my 6 day stay, I had brunch at Mamman twice... it was THAT good. A bakery + cafe with a homey French-feminine feel. Enjoy a delicious latte + pastry while surrounded by twinkling lights, lush green plants and antique furniture. The perfect place to get away from the NY cold.
Another favorite is a quirky little Bistro called, Jack's Wife Freda. Where every dish is made with love and served with genuine hospitality. Get the Green Shakshuka and enjoy an exciting twist on everyday breakfast with indescribable flavors.
Favorite Restaurant: Ninja New York does not disappoint. With a staff full or "Ninjas" and a beautiful Japanese setting, you get a one of a kind experience from the moment you walk into the door. We enjoyed a four course meal full of creative + interactive dishes, and the most beautifully presented/ delicious sushi i've ever had!
Best Place to Grab Drinks: I'm a sucker for a good rooftop bar and while New York has many, they have one that is perfect for those colder NY nights. Enjoy drinks at 230 Fifth in a heated, glowing igloo supplied with full-body blankets and a grammable skyline. Add to the winter feel by ordering their seasonal Pumpkin Pie Liquer Hot Chocolate and rum-spiked hot apple cider.
