Wandering out West // a West Coast Road Trip Guide

Wandering out West // a West Coast Road Trip Guide

There’s nothing I love more than an open road and the freedom to explore it and get a little lost. This week we moved our Threadsquarters from ATL to LA and we wanted to make our trip over match the level of adventure and excitement that this new life change was bringing - to truly be the greatest adventure of them all. We left the comfort of our homes and spent 5 days driving 2,175 miles across our beautiful country and discovered more beautiful places than we could have ever imagined. We made it to our new homes in sunny California inspired and refueled with a new passion for adventure and this next exciting season ahead of us.

We sometimes need to venture outside of our regular routines to refuel, re-calibrate, and refocus our minds to keep on dreaming. If you find yourself wandering through the west coast like us, here is a list of our favorite spots that left us feeling alive and grateful to live on such a beautiful planet as this. xx

-Not necessarily a certain place, just New Mexico as a whole. The long enchanting desert roads - I felt like I could have driven them forever without ever getting restless.

-Make sure to stop by a local Native American market for the most beautiful handcrafted pottery, leather handbags + woven rugs.

Arizona
-The Painted Desert // a hypnotizing desert of badlands showcasing brilliant and vibrant colors from red to lavender. We stumbled upon them on accident after visiting the petrified forest and spontaneously pulled over the car to explore. This may have been my favorite find of the whole trip.

-The Grand Canyon // I had thoughts that the big old landmark that is the Grand Canyon may be over-hyped and overrated but man was I wrong. A picture simply can't capture it's beauty and I can't begin to describe the overwhelming emotions you feel standing on the edge of something so much bigger than yourself.

California-Joshua Tree // Where all my desert dreams came true. -Cabazon Dinos // I was completely against stopping at all the route 66 tourist stops but there is something about these iconic dinos that just give me a little bit of life. -…

-Joshua Tree // Where all my desert dreams came true.

-Cabazon Dinos // I was completely against stopping at all the route 66 tourist stops but there is something about these iconic dinos that just give me a little bit of life.

-Palm Springs // There is such a contagious colorful spirit to Palm Springs. The stylish hotels, midcentury-modern homes and vintage flare is any photographers dream.

-The Wigwam Motel // I love the quirkiness of these little concrete teepees. We spent our last night of our trip relaxing by the pool and making our self at home at this cozy little motel.

Get out + explore. Summer has just begun, invest in yourself as you take on the open road.  xx
