DIY Wellness Smoothie Bowl

Get creative in the kitchen and personalize your own beautiful wellness smoothie bowl! It's super simple to make & perfect if your ballin' on a budget. Not only is this breakfast super healthy and filling, it also makes for the most photogenic meal ever. Follow these simple steps and take your breakfast to the next level! 

Ingredients

Green Wellness Smoothie Bowl

  • Spinach
  • Avocado
  • Frozen pre-sliced bananas
  • Frozen strawberries
  • Non-dairy milk (we used coconut)

Berry Wellness Smoothie Bowl

  • Frozen strawberries
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Frozen pre-sliced bananas
  • Non-dairy milk

Directions

Blend all ingredients, adding more non-dairy milk half way through for a smoother texture. Add more spinach and light-colored fruits like strawberries or raspberries for a brighter green color! I found that it's best to slice your extra ripe bananas and freeze them ahead of time for the best texture! Once your smoothie has a smooth consistency and is a solid color, you can pour it into a bowl and get ready for the fun part. 

Top It Off 

My favorite step of this process is decorating the bowl! Make it as extravagant as you want, and don't forget to take a photo before you eat it all up! We topped these bows with: 

  • Unsweetened coconut flakes
  • Organic chia seeds
  • Unsalted sunflower seeds
  • Fresh blueberries
  • Fresh sliced strawberries
  • Fresh sliced bananas

Other great toppings include almonds, kiwi, oats, pistachios, raspberries, pineapple, cereal, and flax seeds! I switch it up depending on my mood that day! 

Smoothie bowls taste the best when they're fresh, but you can always pour any extras in a mug to snack on later or share with a friend!
