Fall Evenings: Why Staying In Is The New Going Out

I don’t know if it’s just me, but when I’m having a busy week the last thing I want to do is go out on Friday night. This doesn’t mean I want to be a hermit all weekend and do nothing, because don’t get me wrong- I LOVE WEEKENDS. However, sometimes I need to reset and rejuvenate before I jump in to all the festivities. Here is a little checklist for you to help prioritize self care while also being productive to have the best night-in ever.

#1 Start With The Skin

This is one of the most important steps to me. On nights that I stay in I really take the opportunity to put my 10 step skincare routine to good use. This is a great trick that helps jumpstart your productivity for the evening. Start by taking care of business with your skin and you’ll be able to take care of business around the house all while looking crazy with a sheet mask on.

# 2 Throw on a Comfy Set

Listen ladies, being comfy at home doesn’t mean we can’t look cute too. We all know the saying “feel good, look good” but it really is true. Feeling cute while lounging at home instead of feeling frumpy will set you up for a good night of self care and love. We all have that outfit that makes us feel like a bad b*tch and your night of pampering needs one of those too!

#3 Setting The Tone

Sometimes when I get home I just plop on the couch and binge watch Netfilx or YouTube and waste my whole night. Anyone else? Instead, it’s nice to just turn on some music and really get in the chilling mood. I usually take this opportunity to turn on my record player (because I always forget I have it) or listen to new jams I can add to my current playlists. Listening to music instead of distracting yourself with TV will help you relax but will also help you to not procrastinate and sit around for hours.

#4 Catching Up On Home Maintenance

On nights I stay in I LOVE catching up on chores because let’s be honest, I half ass most of mine throughout the week. After changing into a cute set, putting on a face mask, and listening to some music, you’ll definitely feel motivated to catch up on your chores and even put up some new home decor. Setting out new candles, decorating for fall, or finishing up DIY home projects are all things to do on a night-in. My most recent DIY for my apartment is this hanging dimming light. It has completely changed the vibes in my home.

Hope all you babes take some much needed self care time to stay in and focus on yourself. I truly believe it is the foundation to being a BOSS and achieving that harmonious balance we’re all looking for. Take care and stay in once in a while!
