The Palm Springs City Guide: A Local's POV
Summer is finally coming to a close which means it’s the perfect time to visit beautiful Palm Springs, California! Born and raised in the Coachella Valley, I’ve put together the ultimate local’s guide for your next desert trip.
But First, Koffi
Start your day on the right foot by swinging by Koffi for all your caffeinated needs! This local hotspot is known for their in-house roasted coffee, chill ambience and freshly made pastries. Try my personal favorite: an iced honey vanilla oat milk latte and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
Tahquitz Canyon
Step into nature by visiting one of my favorite hiking locations, Tahquitz Canyon! This moderate 2-mile loop will take you through some of the most stunning scenery our desert has to offer including a 60 ft waterfall. Located close to downtown Palm Springs, you’ll be in close proximity to some top brunch spots for that post workout meal.
Lulu California Bistro
It doesn’t get more Palm Springs than this! Located at the heart of downtown, this mid-century modern bistro will make all your foodie dreams come true. With a menu and cocktail list that’s to die for you’ll be happy you got that pre-brunch workout in!
The Saguaro Hotel
Head on over to one of the most recognizable Palm Springs hotels for a pool day pass! Not only is The Saguaro an influencer's aesthetic heaven, but if you go on a weekend you’ll get to experience some great live music as well.
The Gardens On El Paseo
Although it’s located about a 20 minute drive from downtown Palm Springs, The Gardens on El Paseo will provide the best shopping selection in the desert. Comparable to a small Rodeo Drive, you’ll find every high end designer in addition to the classic go-to shops like Lululemon and Sephora. Also filled with some of the best restaurants in the desert, The Gardens in Palm Desert is a must!
The Living Desert
Also located in Palm Desert, the Living Desert is a great place to visit for all you animal lovers. This zoo includes animals from all over the world as well as some amazing hiking trails. If you do plan a trip here, one thing you must do is feed the giraffes! This was one of my favorite activities growing up that I still partake in every year.
Moorten Botanical Garden
Chances are if you’re on Instagram, you’ve seen the Moorten Botanical Garden. This garden houses a huge variety of desert plants and cacti and is the perfect place to get some cute photos for your feed!
Palm Springs Aerial Tramway
One of the biggest tourist attractions in the desert is the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. This aerial tram offers incredible views, access to hikes and a restaurant perfect for that sunset cocktail. As long as you’re not afraid of heights, this is a must see!
Palm Springs is the perfect getaway, from amazing weather to colorful architecture, to incredible food, there’s something for everyone in this beautiful desert. Enjoy your visit!
Cheers!
