5 Tips To Ease Into Your Back-To-School Routine
Back to school is here and let’s face it — whether you spent your summer traveling throughout Europe, accepting every party invitation, or just binging all the Netflix series you missed during the school year, getting back into a routine is never easy. Well, I’ve got you covered! Here are 5 tips to help make the start of the fall semester as seamless as possible:
Know Your Schedule
Preparation is key when it comes to starting a new semester. Becoming familiar with your schedule and planning accordingly will not only calm any anxieties you may have about the busy days ahead but also skyrocket your productivity. Whether you prefer inputting your schedule on google calendar or writing it out in a physical agenda, time blocking every part of your day will allow you to move through the coming weeks with ease!
Plan out your meals
Now, when I said to time block every part of your day, I meant every part. Have you ever been so busy studying that you unknowingly skipped a meal and by the time you realized, you had to run to another class? Forgetting to eat is one of the worst things you can do as a busy girl on the go, so always remember to set aside time to fuel your body.
Block Out Daily Homework and Study Time
This may seem like a given, but even on the days you feel ahead of the game there are always sneaky deadlines approaching from around the corner. Do your future self a favor and schedule at least 30 minutes to an hour of work per day so you can keep this semester's all-nighters to a minimum.
Get Enough Sleep
Speaking of which… get your beauty sleep! All those summer nights spent staying up late and sleeping in are not easy to bounce back from. Try going to sleep and waking up at the same time every day. Eventually, you’ll rewire your brain and develop a consistent sleep schedule in no time.
Destress Time
As the semester progresses and we become busier, it’s easy to put destress time at the bottom of our priorities. Don’t let this happen! Whether you destress by exercising, hanging out with friends, or reading a book, taking time out of every day for YOU is crucial to preventing burnout and maintaining your sanity.
With the start of a new school year, we often stress about the impending assignments and exams all while trying to balance extracurriculars and a social life. However, remember that with a new semester also comes new friendships and exciting new experiences! By using the tips listed above, you’ll have no issue bouncing back from summer ready to take on the new semester. You got this!
Cheers!
