1. Know your values!
What values are meaningful to you? Each chapter has a chosen philanthropy that a portion of your dues will go to and host sorority events for, so it’s important that you believe in the cause! Next, envision a community where you thrive in — what does that look like? You want to spend your college years surrounded by people who will build you up and help you grow :)
2. Do your research (hint hint: social media)
Every sorority is uniquely different, each with its own traditions, events, and culture. Social media is your inside look into what being a sister looks like for each chapter. Finding girls with the same passions or hobbies or even with the same fashion style as you can help factor into your decision. Don’t be scared to stalk, you never know what or who you’ll find!

3. Reach out - your rho gam is your best friend
Ask questions, reach out, use your voice! If you’re unfamiliar with the term rho gam, it’s a sorority member who disaffiliates from their chapter during rush week to act as an unbiased mentor for you. More about the rush process and all your rush questions are answered in Sorority Rush 101. Basically your rho gam is there to hold your hand and guide you, so treat them like your rush bff!
4. Trust your gut, always
We as girls know that our gut feelings are the strongest indicator of what is or isn’t a right decision. Never doubt your own intuition — If it feels right, it prob is. If something feels off, then run away. The sorority recruitment process is deep and intense but will open your eyes to what you really want, who you actually align with, and where you truly belong.
Finding your perfect fit can feel scary, but we know that you’ll thrive anywhere you go, duh. Just remember to stay true to yourself — there is no one like you. The right sorority for you is waiting with open arms for you to come home :)
